Black Bottom Pecan Pie

Black bottom pecan pie is absolutely delicious. The chocolate bottom and the vanilla extract add a sweet twist to a classic recipe. This is an incredible pie that is a favorite year round.
Ingredients -
 
2 tablespoons Cocoa
1/2 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
4 Large Eggs
1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Light Corn Syrup
4 tablespoons Butter, melted
1 1/2 cups Pecan Halves
1 nine-inch Pie Shell
 
Preparation:
 
1. Preheat Oven to 350 F.

2. In a small bowl, mix cocoa and chocolate.

3. Soread chocolate mixture on unbaked pie shell.

4. Beat eggs, sugar, and brown sugar. Add vanilla, corn syrup, and butter. Mix well. Fold in the pecans.

5. Pour pecan pie mixture into pie shell.

6. Bake 45 minutes or until edges of pie are firm and center of pie is slightly soft.

Test Doneness
Give your pie a slight shake, the center should jiggle just a little. The pie is done, and will continue cooking and firm up after removed from the oven. If you arent certain, insert a knife blade in the center of your pie. It the blade comes out clean, the pie is ready to remove from the oven.
