Pecan Pie

Classic pecan pie favorite, Make this pie with a homemade piecrust for best effect and results. This simple pecan pie is a great recipe for hoildays and any occasion. Serve with vanilla ice cream and garnish pie with whipped topping and chocolate shavings.
Ingredients -
 
1 (9 inch) Pie Shell
3/4 cup White Sugar
3/4 cup Light Corn Syrup
3 Eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 pinch Salt
1 cup chopped Pecans
 
Preparation:
 

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. With fork, prick piecrust shell in several places.

3. Bake pie shell 5 minutes, allow shell to cool.

4. Combine sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl.

5. Add pecans and mix well.

6. Pour pecan pie mixture into pie shell.

7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, until edges are firm, pie center is still soft.

8. Remove pie, allow to cool.

Make use of extra pecans during the holidays by toasting pecans and sugar coating them, or spicing them up with nutmeg or cinnamon.
